Isaiah 7:4 (The Message) Then God told Isaiah. "Go and meet Ahaz....Tell him, Listen, calm down. Don't be afraid. And don't panic over these two burnt out cases.....
King Ahaz had two enemy kings coming to fight against him and he and his people shook like trees they were so frightened. But God gave him very specific instructions on how to deal with it.
This story relates to us because we all have things happen that make us fearful and threaten to steal our peace. It only takes a tax bill we didn't know about, a doctor's report we don't like, something that shakes us up.
But God says "Listen, Calm Down." In other words, take a deep breath, remind yourself God is right there with you and no weapon formed against you shall succeed. Remember God is for you so who or what can be against you? (Romans 8:31-32)
Fear and panic are spirits that constantly try to gain influence in our minds but our minds and bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, they belong to God, not to the enemy, and we need to remind him and ourselves of that truth.😊 It's good to remember God has made us Victors, we are not Victims. Romans 8:37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
God tells us we don't need to fear because He's watching over us, protecting and guarding us, He tells us His love surrounds us like a shield. It may help us to see that shield of love surrounding us every time fear and panic come knocking and remember we have angelic beings defending and helping us.
The other day I had something I was afraid to do so I shut myself in the bedroom and did some resisting and taking authority over that fear. I declared that God has made me more than a conqueror, that by faith I am an over-comer of this fear through Jesus Christ, that I am above it and not beneath it. Then I went out and with His help I did it. I overcame it. Was it easy? No, I had to keep reminding myself God was helping me overcome all the time.😊
Be encouraged, friends, God doesn't intend us to deal with fear alone. He's equipped us to overcome our fears by the power of His Word and the Holy Spirit inside us in Jesus Name.
1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
