John 10:10...I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Jesus didn't die to give us a 'get by' kind of life but He said Himself He came to give us an abundant, cup overflowing life which included all of Psalm 103:1-5.
God wants us to experience much more of who He is, to know what Jesus has really done for us. Romans 5:17 says ....much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Jesus talks about His Father giving us 'much more' six times in the gospels. He says how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! (Luke 11:13) In Luke 12:7 He tells us we're of much more value than the sparrows and how God cares for them and us. So far we've seen the much more involves our receiving His abundance of grace, reigning in life, God's care of us and most importantly receiving the Holy Spirit. Jesus wants us to have a sense of His Father being a 'much more' God.
When Jesus fed the 5,000 He provided much more than was needed and there were 12 large baskets left over. Another time the miraculous catch of fish involved a net breaking catch there were so many! If you've been feeling that you have needed more, then why not go to God and ask Him to be the God of much more to you right now.Jesus said ...how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! (Matt. 7:11). We have Jesus' permission and encouragement to do so!😊 Maybe we need much more health, much more wisdom, much more finances for projects, to help others or to meet our own needs. Whatever it is, we can't overstretch our God. He is the God of much more, of more than enough.😊
How do we see God? How do we see our lives stretching out in front of us? God wants us to catch what He's saying "I am the God of much more in your life". Whatever our lives have been up to this point He's calling us to the 'much more', which is good news don't you think?😊
