Philippians 4:8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure and lovely, and admirable. Think about these things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
My friend sent this photo of magnolia flowers at the castle she visited on holiday this week and I thought how lovely they are.
This verse in Philippians came to mind as I remembered Paul exhorting us all to fix our thoughts on things that he lists above, including lovely things.
It's so easy to become fixated on the negative things that go on in the world and it requires a bit of effort sometimes to think about the admirable, pure and honourable things! And how do we know what is true these days? The Word of God is true and we can confidently think about it at any time.😊
I typed in 'good news' on the internet and came across so many uplifting stories it was amazing. In the kingdom of God there are countless testimonies of healings of all kinds today, of Jesus delivering people from addictions and demonic spirits, of people being set free from oppression and depression, all to the glory of God.
Only last month we heard about the Holy Spirit pouring out the love of God at Asbury University in America which is now spreading world wide changing lives. There are wonderful things happening.
For me it was a photo of beautiful flowers that started me off fixing my thoughts on the right things. We have to choose what we think about so may I encourage us all to fix your thoughts on anything which is uplifting, that causes us to be thankful and to praise God for all His goodness to us today.😊
