OUTRAGEOUS OR COURAGEOUS!

1 Corinthians 16:13 NLT Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be outrageous. Be strong. And do everything with love.

Oops! Did you notice my typing mistake!? It made me laugh so I thought I’d leave it in to make you laugh as well. God didn’t really say for us to be outrageous.😊 But He did say to be courageous! Here’s how it should read …

1 Corinthians 16:13 Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love.

Soldiers on guard duty have a responsibility to have their weapons at the ready, and they’re on the alert which is how God wants us to be, so we’re ready for whatever comes. When we feel discouraged or knocked back it may be because we weren’t on guard doing what God told us to do in our verse, which is our responsibility. So be on guard!😊 I know my thoughts need guarding! How about yours?

Stand firm in the faith. If we don’t know what we believe we will wobble about, but God’s word will hold us firm if we hold on to it, believe it and obey it.

Be courageous (and outrageously bold if you need to😊), and be strong. Our strength and courage come from God Himself and He has an endless, unlimited supply so we can call on Him night and day to help. We have the power of the Holy Spirit inside our spirit and we know God is for us, so we’re on the victory side.

Last of all he says do everything with love.
Love makes everything so much easier because love wants to give, to help, to support and be there for one another. God’s love knows no bounds and Romans 5:5 says He has put His love in our hearts so we can tap into it any time. How amazing that is.

When you think about it, God has made us a force to be reckoned with! So let’s be on guard, stand firm, be courageous, and let’s do everything with love, as we walk into another week with Jesus!  Have a blessed week.😊
