Glory to God we have a Champion and Jesus is His name. Goliath was the Philistines’ champion but David became the Israelites’ champion when He defeated Goliath. Jesus became our Champion when He defeated the devil for us and because of the cross we can push back our enemies and use His mighty name to tell the principalities and powers to bow their knee to Him.
We’re not looking to a future of defeat but of victory because Jesus is our Saviour, the One who gives us the victory day by day as we look to Him. We’re not trying to gain the victory but we’re coming from a position of victory. Part of that victory is control over our feelings, our attitudes and over our words, especially when we can’t control our circumstances or other people. Inside we can know and remember we already have been given the victory.😊
When we reread these verses, I think the more we acknowledge and believe that it’s by God’s power and understand we’re not on the losing but the winning side, the more we shall constantly praise His name and give Him all the glory.
I don’t know about you but I’m so thankful it’s not by our own efforts but by God’s power.
Let’s praise Him today because God has given us His own faith so we can overcome whatever the world throws our way and we can stand strong in His strength and His victory. Glory to His name. Amen.
