JESUS IN THE EVERYDAY

Psalm 145:18 The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth.

I saw a lovely series of drawings of Jesus doing all kinds of things in the present day. He was there on a bus sitting beside a young lady, then He was lying on the floor helping a child colouring in the pages with her, then He was on the Underground holding on to the strap next to a man. Everyday things any of us could be involved in, just to show us Jesus is right there with us.

Maybe like me you enjoy doing jigsaws, the Lord is right there, or perhaps you love baking or cooking, He is there by your side, or going shopping, or when you’re at work, or on the school run - Jesus is there in the car with us, involved in all those things and I thought how reassuring that is. They all seem such ordinary things, don’t they? The things that make up the fabric of our lives and He wants us to know He’s in the middle of it all with us.😊

Jesus walked and talked with His disciples for three years doing all the everyday things men have to do each day. He lived with His many brothers and sisters for 30 years, went errands for His mum, worked for His dad in the workshop. Jesus knows and understands about the everyday and He’d like to be included in our everyday too.

So as we begin another week, let’s have a picture in our minds’s eye of Jesus beside us joining in all our activities and be thankful He’s there to help us. He wants to join in our joys and ‘laugh out loud’ moments, but He wants us to know He’s there to comfort us when we’re upset too.

Lord we just commit the whole week ahead into Your powerful loving hands and thank You for being in it all with us. Amen.

Enjoy your week with Jesus.x
