When we’ve seen the devastating fires this past week in America and how some people have lost their homes and belongings we realise how thankful we should be for every blessing we have right now.
One lady who was caught up in the fires commented “It reminds me of the value of what is not tangible”, and it makes us really appreciate what we have.😊
I pray none of us experiences anything of that kind but it does make us take stock of all the things in our lives which can’t be taken away from us. We can’t put a value on the love of family and friends, of the skills God has given us, of our relationship with our loving Father God, to know our sins are forgiven, to know he is Jehovah Jireh, God our Provider, and countless more.At the times when we’re tempted to live in the past, or worrying about what will happen in our future, it’s good to bring ourselves up short and recognise all the goodness God has poured out on us right now and to remember He has new blessings, new mercies for us every morning of our lives.😊
So next time we find ourselves dwelling on all the things we may have lost or the things we don’t have, which we think we ‘must have’ to be happy in the future, we can choose to have a grateful heart, to be overwhelmingly thankful for all the blessings we already enjoy each and every day.
Psalm 103:2-5 NKJV …Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Thank You Lord, we are so grateful for all Your blessings. In Jesus name, Amen.
