I think David must have spent hours and hours fellowshipping with the Lord to be able to write so much about Him. He had such a close relationship and it could only have happened by spending time in worshipping His God out in the fields working with the sheep, when he was in hiding, or running for his life. He had proved God to be faithful to him in every circumstance of life, whether he was bringing down giants, in the ordinariness of caring for his animals or ruling a kingdom, and he wanted everyone else to know how good his God was.
We still benefit from his writings and as we read his psalms he draws us into close fellowship with the Lord through them, all these centuries later. The years and cultures may change but our God never changes and he says His kingdom is everlasting - it will still exist thousands of years from now and we will be part of it!😊
He reminds us our God is a promise keeper, He is gracious, He helps the fallen, and lifts those bent over with their cares and responsibilities. Didn’t Jesus say the same thing? Matthew 11:28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
So if you need lifting up, if you need rest for your soul, if you need God to be gracious and show you His favour today, why not come and praise the Lord and bless His holy name and let Him be to you all that you need Him to be. In Jesus name. Amen.😊
