Genesis 42:36 NLT Jacob exclaimed, “You are robbing me of my children! Joseph is gone! Simeon is gone! And now you want to take Benjamin, too. Everything is going against me!”
Now his father is feeling the same way. His sons were lost to him and he felt hopeless and helpless against his circumstances. What he didn’t know was that it was part of God’s ultimate plan where he would have his long lost son restored to him and he would live out the rest of his days in peace and prosperity. He couldn’t see the end from the beginning, but God did!
There are times when we feel like everything is going against us, but behind the scenes our God is at work turning it all around for our good if we’ll keep trusting Him. The Holy Spirit is right here with us, helping us deal with each day but we have to turn to Him in faith, not in moans and complaints. So it’s our job to build up our faith by hearing the word of God because it says, Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.(Romans 10:17 NKJV).
Next time we feel like everything is against us, we can run to God and thank Him He is in control, thank Him He is turning it round for our good, even when we can’t see it. Stand our ground against the enemy’s attacks, be a doer of the word and resist him, tell him to take his hands off us because we belong to God. Plead the blood of Jesus over our lives and speak the life giving promises in the word of God over our circumstances. Stay faithful to God and watch Him unfold His good plans for us.
Whether it happens overnight or whether it takes years, don’t quit and don’t despair - God is working it out because He loves you.
