DON’T BE SHAKEN

1 Thessalonians 3:2-3 NLT We sent him to strengthen you, to encourage you in your faith, and to keep you from being shaken by the troubles you were going through.v.5 That is why…I sent Timothy to find out whether your faith was still strong. I was afraid the tempter had gotten the best of you and that our work had been useless.

Life can be sailing along very peacefully and then a storm of some kind hits and we wonder what’s going on! Paul knew what it was like as he had more troubles than most so he knew how important it is to have someone who will encourage us at those times.

He’d already warned the Thessalonians there would be some difficulties to face and he was genuinely worried they might be tempted to give up. So he sent Timothy along to strengthen them as they endured the troubles they were dealing with. He didn’t want them to be shaken in their faith!😊

I’d just like to encourage anyone who is feeling storm battered today, to keep strong in your faith in God. He hasn’t forgotten you or abandoned you for one second and He will bring you through whatever is happening. Just because we can’t see the end of the tunnel doesn’t mean it’s not there. Keep reading His word, keep declaring His promises and standing in faith because He said if we don’t get weary we will reap a harvest. Galations 6:9 …At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.

The tempter will try to discourage us, but when we recognise he’s a liar and what he’s trying to do, it will make us dig our heels in and say “No way, I resist you devil. Take your hands off my life, I belong to God and He is bringing me through this situation victorious. Get out in Jesus name!”

Father, as we begin a new week, we commit to You anyone reading this who may be struggling, and ask You to hold them steady, to not let them be shaken, to keep them strong in their faith and to uphold and strengthen them as You bring them through and out the other side of the trial or trouble they’re in, just as You have promised. In Jesus mighty name. Amen.
