Mark 2:12 And the man jumped up, grabbed his mat, and walked out through the stunned onlookers. They were all amazed and praised God, exclaiming, “We’ve never seen anything like this before!”
Well there was a particular day when Jesus was at home in Capernaum and the house was jammed with people who wanted to hear Him. Meanwhile four friends had staggered along the road carrying their paralysed friend, only to find they couldn’t get in the door. They didn’t give up though, and somehow managed to drag that poor guy up on to the roof so they could let him down through a hole they had to make. That was one big hole!
Sometimes we have to be very determined to receive our healing and not let any obstacle put us off. We need to decide to knock a big hole in anything that is contrary to God’s word, whether it’s our traditions, past experience, our unbelief or even what has happened to other Christians. They kept their eyes on Jesus, and kept hearing what He was saying, and we need to do the same thing. By Jesus wounds we were healed. (1 Peter 2:24)
Well the Lord saw their faith and told the man to pick up his mat and walk, which he did! It was one of those jaw dropping moments for the people crammed inside, as the paralysed man got up and squeezed past them all in order to go home. So much so they all said, “We’ve never seen anything like it!”
It had been worth those men knocking a big hole in what was blocking them! Jesus could see their faith. We want Him to see ours too.🙂
Now I’ve never, in person, seen a paralysed man healed but the Lord has been really stirring me up to believe Him to move in power where I am, healing the sick, opening blind eyes etc. I know it’s happening in other places, and maybe where you are, but if not, perhaps we’re not seeing it because we’re not asking and believing for it and expecting it!
Jesus says to ask and we’ll receive. So will you join with me and let’s ask and believe the Lord to see Him moving in power among us, and through us? Healing and miracles are not extinct! They are for now!🙂
Jesus said we, as believers, would lay hands on the sick and they would recover. I for one, want to be able to say “Yes it’s happening and I’ve never seen anything like it”, both in my life and in others’ lives. How about you? Jesus Himself said you and I could and should do it, and we all know nothing is impossible with God, so let’s knock a big hole in any unbelief, believe Jesus, and just do it!🙂
Mark 16:18 ….they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.
