Psalm 103:1-2 (Amp)
Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul:
and all that is (deepest) within me, bless His holy name!
Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord,
O my soul, and forget not (one of ) all His benefits-
Psalm 103 is one of my favourite passages of scripture because it is so uplifting. It tells us all the wonderful things God has done and will do for us and if you'd like to stick with me for a few days I thought we'd have a look at some of it.
The Nlt says this verse this way - Let all that I am praise the Lord, with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. David, who wrote this psalm, is one of those people who seemed to be wholehearted about everything he did. He wasn't a half in, half out sort of chap. He threw himself into his praise for God with gusto because He knew God deserved all the praise he could give Him. He says 'all that I am', with my 'whole heart'.
I wonder if you're like me and feel challenged by that? Maybe we've not been as wholehearted as we could be and hopefully, as we look into some of this Psalm, it will help us to turn that around.
So how does he do it? He never forgets all the good things God does for him, and I think that is the secret. God wants us to deliberately remember He is the God who 'benefits' us because His benefits are the best in the world! So this week I hope you can join me in not forgetting the good things the Lord is doing for us too.
Have a blessed day praising God with your whole heart. 😊
