CHOSEN BY GOD

 Colossians 3:12 (Nlt)

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, 

you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, 

kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

How amazing it is to be chosen by God, to be the holy people He loves. What an enormous privilege that is and how humbling. When we realise how big it is we'll want to be merciful to others because God has been merciful to us. 

When we receive kindness from someone it makes us want to be kind to others, doesn't it, and it's the same with gentleness and patience. We've received them all from God through Jesus so we can readily give the same to whoever we meet.

Paul goes on to tell us some more about our being chosen in Ephesians 1:3 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.

Sometimes it's hard to get our heads around the fact that God loved us and chose us even before He made the world! We look at ourselves and see our faults, but God looks at us and He sees us wrapped up in Jesus and His righteousness. God is so merciful and it gives us such an awareness of how much He cares about us. Nothing can happen that He doesn't already know about so we can be at peace.
