All through scripture we find the phrase "The Lord is my strength" and it's good to remember, especially on the days when our own strength is at a low ebb.
2 Peter 1:12 Therefore, I will always remind you about these things - even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught.
The Apostle Peter wrote to believers telling them he would constantly remind them about God and His promises, about Jesus and His salvation. He knew that we all forget some things when the pressure is on and he knew all about pressure when he denied the Lord. He didn't want us to experience that so he kept reminding them.
Today the Lord is reminding us He is our strength. So if we need strength today let's go to Him. Ask and receive from Him and thank Him by faith that He is our strength for today, that He is pouring His grace for strength into us right when we need it.
Then David goes on to remind us that God is also our shield from every danger. Some dangers are obvious while others we're not always aware of, but whatever kind it is we can know that we can trust the Lord to protect us. We are not vulnerable, we are protected by Almighty God.
Every single one of us needs His strength and protection and He says if we'll trust Him for them, we'll find so much joy in our hearts that we'll burst out in songs of praise to Him too.😊
