For the next few days we're looking at this same chapter in Colossians and this verse follows on from yesterday's about being chosen and loved by God. It's easy sometimes to see the faults in others, but Paul says because of God's love for us, to choose to make allowances for other's faults. When we remember we all have faults of our own and we want God and others to forgive us when we get it wrong, hopefully it makes it easier then to overlook their failings too.😊
For lots of different reasons we can be a bit on the defensive and when people seem to offend us we may get all riled up, but quite often they didn't mean anything by it and we're just being over sensitive (or is it just me?) Even if they did mean it the Holy Spirit says to forgive them anyway because it gives an open door to the enemy in our lives if we don't, and none of us want that! God is telling us to let it go for our own good to protect us from being hurt by the enemy.
As we begin this new week let's remember we're loved and chosen by God which is bigger than anything else and it's all that really matters. Not only that, He's making us big enough on the inside to let offences run off our backs like water off a duck's back so we can enjoy our week with Him.
So next time someone upsets you, just mutter under your breath, "water off a duck's back" and smile really big, because you know you're loved and chosen by God. 😊
Have a blessed week.😊
