WHAT DOES GOD WANT?

Hosea 6:6 NLT 

I want you to show love, not offer sacrifices. 

I want you to know me 

more than I want burnt offerings.

I’m sure we all have an “I Want” list and we probably remind God about it quite frequently, especially where family and friends are concerned. 

But today’s verses are a role reversal. Here we see what God wants, not what we want and it’s not a great long list, but very simple so we can’t get confused! 

We know there are other things He desires of us but these are top of His list for today.😊

The children of Israel had lost their love for the Lord, they’d wandered off and done their own thing, and you can hear the Lord’s heart as He calls them back to Himself.

God doesn’t change and His heart is still the same to all of us. He loves us with an everlasting love that will never weaken, never fade away and He simply wants us to love him and know Him. 

If you’ve never stopped to wonder and think about what God wants, then maybe this is a great opportunity to do it today.😊 There’s no time like the present and God hasn’t gone off anywhere on His holidays. He is still our ever present help in trouble, our Strong Tower, our Shepherd and our Saviour who suffered and died in our place, and loves us forever.

So this just a reminder, it’s a call for us to show Him our love and to know Him in a deeper way, and if we do have an ‘I want list’, maybe we could put those things at the top of our list too.😊 In Jesus name. Amen.
