QUIET CONFIDENCE IN OUR GOD

 Psalm 62:1-2 NLT

I wait quietly before God,
    for my victory comes from him.

He alone is my rock and my salvation,
    my fortress where I will never be shaken.

Here is another of David’s psalms where His confidence in God shines through. There’s no question in his mind that he’s going to have the victory. He doesn’t say, “If I get the victory”, he states it as a fact because he knows the victory will only come to him from God, and he is such a wonderful example to each one of us.

This is not a picture of David wringing his hands and saying “What can I do!” No, he has decided to wait for God to act on his behalf because he’s reminding himself, and us, that all things are possible with our God.

There are bound to be times when we’re facing a battle, but like David we need to declare by faith that we are going to have the victory in our situations because God is on our side, fighting our battles for us. If we’ve obeyed what God has instructed us to do in our situation, then it’s just a case of waiting quietly for God to work things out when the time is right.

And if you start to feel a bit shaky about it just remind yourself, like David, that God alone is your rock and as long as you stay in Him you will never be shaken.

Verse 8 says O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.

Whatever victory you are waiting for be like David. Trust in God at all times, pour out your heart to Him and know your victory is on the way. In Jesus name. Amen.
