SO WHAT NOW…

Ephesians 2:13 NLT But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.

What a wonderful verse that is if we know Jesus as our Saviour! Scripture is full of ‘Now’ verses, they’re all about what we have now, and what is expected of us in our now. So what is now, what does God say we have? What is being left behind if we move into His ‘now…’?

It’s a bit like saying “What’s next? What has been promised and what should we expect in the now?”

1 Peter 2:10 NLT Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.

Ephesians 5:8 NLT For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!

Romans 8:1-2 NIV Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, …

Colossians 3:8 NLT But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language.

1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

There are probably loads more ‘now’ verses we could investigate but it’s worth a moment of our time to see what God has blessed us with right now, not in the sweet bye and bye - His mercy, His light, His forgiveness, united with Christ, brought near to Him, His faith, hope and love.😊 

Our part is to believe His word, live in the blessing and truth of all His ‘nows’, and declare them over our own lives so we experience them to the full. 

Father God, we want to live in the reality of Your ‘nows’. To know Your love is always in our now, no matter what’s happening, to walk by faith not by what we see throughout today, to hold on to our hope and not let it go.  In Jesus name. Amen.
