INSTINCT OR INTUITION?

Job 38:36 NLT Who gives intuition to the heart and instinct to the mind?

Have you ever had a ‘knowing’ in your insides?
You have an inner instinct when you meet someone and there’s a warning in your spirit  you should be careful? Or you have a ‘feeling’ you should go a different way to town and discover later that you avoided an accident? You may have a strong nudge to not say anything when a situation crops up, or not to eat any more chocolates!🤣

The reason I’m saying all that is because in Job 38  God challenges Job with huge questions, saying who does he think he is to question God’s wisdom! He asks him if he was there when God laid the foundations of the earth, what supports its foundations, who laid its cornerstone? Has he ever commanded the morning to appear? Does he know where light comes from, and where darkness goes? Who robes the earth in brilliant colours each day? And then He asks, “Who gives intuition to the heart and instinct to the mind?” And the answer, of course, is God Himself!

And then we realise that the Spirit of this same God is living on the inside of us if we belong to Jesus. We have His God given instinct and intuition, His wisdom and His insight are available to us. He knows what is coming round the corner and He will warn and instruct us if we’ll listen and pay attention to His still small voice. The other day we looked at God thundering across the skies to come to our aid, but we also know it’s in the still small voice when we hear God speak to us.

So next time you have a ‘feeling’ you shouldn’t do something, prick up your ears like the rabbit, don’t ignore it, and be wise and listen to your inner Counsellor, the Holy Spirit. He’s trying to protect you, warn you and watch over you. Or maybe He’s wanting to promote you by giving you a ‘knowing’ that you need to pursue a certain course of action, and take the next step.🙂

Whatever it is, as we go into another week, let’s listen to that inner voice, your God given instinct and intuition, and obey whatever He says. In Jesus name. Amen.
