GOD HEARS OUR EVERY SIGH

James 1:12 NIV Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

In the book of Job we read how Job went through great trials where his wife ridiculed him and told him to curse God, he lost all his children, his wealth, the respect of his neighbours and even his own health. He was covered in boils, was in great pain and distress and wanted to know why. He asked a lot of questions, but in the middle of it all he still could say in Job 19:25 NIV I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. He chose to still trust his God.

There are times in life when we go through trials where nothing makes sense, where our prayers don’t seem to be working but God has not changed, His faithfulness has not failed, His love is still wrapped around us and no matter what happens we need to remember that, and not give up our faith in Him and in His word. God is still working behind the scenes and He hears our every sigh, the cry of our hearts.

Just because things don’t appear to be working out the way we have asked, doesn’t mean God is not answering our prayers, it means His plan is different to ours and because He knows the end from the beginning sometimes we have to stop putting question marks where God has put a full stop.

This side of heaven we won’t understand everything that happens, but our hope of heaven, where there will be no tears, no loss, no sorrow is still secure when we love Jesus. We still have our God in our ‘now’, an ever present help in our trouble. Don’t let go of that, but run to Him and know He is holding you up. 

Job’s trials were eventually turned around and he lived to be 140 years old. He had double restored to him of everything he had lost.😊 So be encouraged, we serve the same God and He is still our Redeemer. In Jesus name. Amen.
