ON CALL, CHOSEN AND APPOINTED

John 15:16 NLT You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.

So what do you like to do at the weekends? Chill out like this cat? Play sports, go shopping, doing nothing much? Maybe you’re thinking the chance would be a fine thing!😊 

Before we retired we always used to look forward to our ‘day off’, but there’s always something to do, and in God’s kingdom I’ve learned there is no retirement!😊 

Sometimes we forget though that God needs us to be available each day, to be willing to not just hear His voice, but to have a heart to carry out His instructions. What a privilege!

God has chosen and appointed us to bear fruit and He designed us to have fellowship, to help one another. It might be tempting to be a Lone Ranger, because then we don’t need to become involved in everything that’s going on, but God called us to be part of His body the church so we can help build His kingdom with the gifts He gives us. We might be the part of the body that someone really needs today.😊

It may only mean saying a kind or an encouraging word, to offer to pray with someone, or to help in church, or to visit a friend who feels low or lonely. 

Whatever it is, whether it’s our day off day or not, let’s remember God loves us and wants to bless us as we serve Him, so we can be a blessing, and so He can give us what we ask for using His name. In Jesus name. Amen.
