GOD IS RIGHT BESIDE US

Psalm 16:5-8 NLT 

Lord, you alone are my inheritance, 

my cup of blessing.

You guard all that is mine.

6 The land you have given me is a pleasant land.

What a wonderful inheritance!

7 I will bless the Lord who guides me;

even at night my heart instructs me.

8 I know the Lord is always with me.

I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.

What a wonderful God we have!😊 If you’ve ever inherited anything, you’ll know what a blessing it can be. I like the analogy of the cup of blessing which implies it can be filled up again and again every time we drink it up. It’s like in Psalm 23:5 when David says his cup overflows with blessings. That’s the kind of God we serve. When we have Him as our inheritance we have all we shall ever need.

We often see David declaring things about his God, and we need to follow his example. We declare that our God is guarding all that is ours, whether it’s our families, relationships, health or finances - our God is guarding them all.

Have you blessed the Lord recently for guiding you, even in the night time at 3 a.m., or have you grumbled because you were woken up?😊 You see, the Lord is indeed always with us, even in the small hours of the darkest night and He assures us we will not be shaken! Why? Because, as David says, ‘He is right beside us.’

I hope that encourages us all today. Our God is for us, with us, around us, beside us, blessing us and guarding us. So let’s go and worship Him with a new smile on our faces and give Him all our love and praise with a thankful heart today.😊 In Jesus name. Amen.
