It’s funny how the Lord uses daft things to speak to us sometimes. He reminded me that the Holy Spirit is never a temporary resident in our lives, but He is with us permanently, round the clock, day by day, every day. How reassuring that is - we’re never alone, never abandoned, always cared for, always watched over by our loving Heavenly Father, by the Holy Spirit.
But maybe we all need to ask ourselves the question from time to time, are we acknowledging His presence in our house, in our hearts each day, or do we just put God in a ‘few minutes slot’ in the morning, and then when we’re busy, we forget to include Him in our decisions, our ups and downs throughout our day?
Some people keep God in a ‘Sunday box’ and forget Him the rest of the week, or only include Him when they need something.
Scripture tells us that the Holy Spirit comes to take up residence in our hearts, that our bodies become the temple of the Holy Spirit and we don’t belong to ourselves anymore, we belong to Him - all the time.
Proverbs 3:6 says to acknowledge Him in all our ways and He will direct our paths. It’s to our advantage when we acknowledge the Holy Spirit all the time and ask Him for His help and counsel, His comfort and wisdom that He’s so willing to give us. Why would we pass up an offer like that?!😊
Thank You Lord for the gift of Your Holy Spirit who is permanently with us. Help us to be aware of Him in all we do throughout our day. In Jesus name. Amen.
