OPEN YOUR MOUTH WIDE

Psalm 81:10 NLT For it was I, the Lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it with good things.

We’ve looked at being showered with God’s blessings and I don’t know if you have a big mouth or not, but God has promised if we’ll open our mouths wide, He will fill them with all His good blessings. What a promise!😊

The trouble is we may need to spit out what’s in our mouths already, so He can fill them. Maybe we have words of unbelief or doubt, or words that don’t agree with God’s word, that need to be cleared out first.😊

The children of Israel didn’t ‘deserve’ God’s goodness after the way they behaved and yet God, in His mercy, blessed them. 

The amazing thing is, everything God gives us is because of His goodness, His generosity, His grace, and it has  nothing to do with our deserving any of it, or because of our good works. It’s all because of what Jesus did for us at the cross. God doesn’t owe us anything, it’s just the goodness and mercy of our God.

If we’re tempted to think God ‘owes’ us, then we disqualify ourselves from receiving His grace, because whatever we receive from God is only by His grace, through faith, not by our works. (Ephesians 2:8)

Psalm 23:6 CEB Yes, goodness and faithful love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the Lord’s house as long as I live. 

Thank You Lord Your goodness and mercy are pursuing us every day and we open our mouths wide to receive them by faith because of all Jesus has done for us.  It just fills our hearts with gratitude and praise and thanksgiving. In Jesus name. Amen.
