Proverbs 17:22 NLT A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.
In the corner of a charity shop the other day was a huge Triceratops dinosaur with feet like a duck, and a sticking out tail, all slumped over, facing the wall as though he was in disgrace! We laughed and commented to the sales assistant and she immediately said “You can have him for free. Just take him!” She said it twice!
Well we were amazed and looked at each other as though we’d be crazy to take it, but we couldn’t say no, so he came home with us! Now every time we come in the room he makes us laugh, he’s so huge and cheery. Maybe we all need a ginormous dinosaur in the house! If you live near us and would like to borrow him, feel free to ask and we’ll share him around, he’s so very cuddly!😊
Sometimes life can be hard and we need a bit of light relief, just to lift our spirits or to lighten the atmosphere when we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. In our case it just makes us chuckle, for no reason at all really, other than he’s so ridiculous! He’s just funny! We so easily could have had said, “No thank you! We can’t fit him in”, and missed the light hearted blessing he has brought.
So this is just a little encouragement to accept whatever unusual blessing comes your way, even if it doesn’t fit your idea of what a blessing should be, and just enjoy it till it’s time to pass it on to someone else.
And if you need cheering up as you begin this week just expand the photo and let him put a smile on your face before you start the day, because Proverbs 15:30 says A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and we all need some joy in our hearts, don’t we?😊 Amen.
Thankyou Jackie great verses to remember, 😉
