ALL THINGS TO ENJOY

1 Timothy 6:17 NIV …but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

I enjoy looking round garden centres and recently went to a different one which had huge fern trees for sale. It was like walking into a jungle!

You may enjoy spending time with family or gardening, or maybe when you go out for coffee. Perhaps you spend time on the internet, or playing a sport, or you’re an avid reader, but God has given us all things to enjoy. The challenge I find is to not let them take over and take up the time we need to spend with God and His word.😊

Colossians 3:23-24 NLT Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people… Whatever we do, do it as unto God. That includes our work, or our service to the Lord, or going through the routines of our day, but it can also include our hobbies. They can all be an expression of who God has made us to be, and of our talents. Whatever we do we can do it for His glory, and praise Him we’re able to do it.

Maybe we do things a bit half heartedly sometimes, but it honours God when we do it with enthusiasm and a positive attitude, and we put our whole hearts into whatever we have to do. No one likes working with a reluctant, ‘I wish I was somewhere else’ person! 

When we wash the dishes - ‘Thank You Lord I have a home and a sink of my own to wash up.’ When we go to work - ‘Thank You Lord I have a job to do even if it’s not what I’d like to be doing.’ If we don’t have work -‘Thank You Lord You’re providing the job I need and it’s on the way.’ When we enjoy our hobby - ‘Thank You Lord I have the time and ability to enjoy relaxing for a little while.’ 

I’m sure you get the idea. Whatever our hands find to do today - let’s do it as unto the Lord who gives us all things to enjoy.😊 Amen.
