Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Shortly after their rescue we find them trembling in fear when the Egyptian charioteers chased them down and they panicked, but again God told them what to do, while God dealt with their enemies and drowned them all in the sea. Then we see them at Marah where the water was bitter and they complained again because they had no water to drink. But God was merciful and told Moses how to make the water sweet.
You see they hadn’t learned to trust God, but constantly referred to their circumstances instead of God Himself and what He had said. I think we sometimes get caught like that.😊 The enemy shouts in our ears to look at the circumstances, and we’re tempted to use our logical minds, to begin to reason things out, instead of just trusting God!
God however, is looking for a people who will walk with Him from day to day, by faith in what His word has said, not in what we feel or what past experience has taught us.
If there’s one thing the exodus of the Israelites teaches us, it is to trust and obey exactly what God says, no matter how impossible it looks and to remember God never let them down even though they were so unfaithful to Him.
God says we are seated in Christ in heavenly places, and it’s so important we don’t become so focused on the worldly realm, that we miss the eternal realm where God things happen.😊
Thank You Father, Jesus came down and lifted us up to where You are. Help us to keep our eyes focused only on You and what Your word has promised us, and not on our circumstances. In Jesus name. Amen.
