Genesis 22:14 NLT Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the Lord will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”
Sometimes we think of mountain experiences as when we’re on top of things, a place of celebration and they can certainly be that. But Abraham had a mountain experience where he was tested to the extreme. God asked him to sacrifice his own son and he proved he was willing to obey, but God stepped in so he didn’t need to. God saw to it.😊
We all have challenges and trials that loom up like mountains in our lives but Abraham proved to us that whatever mountain we are on, whatever is looming up in front of us, however hard the climb looks, God will already be there and He is Yahweh Yireh, the Lord who will provide for us, the God who will see to it, whatever it is we will need.
Jesus often withdrew to a mountain place to pray and spend time with His Father. He too showed us how we can use our mountain experiences and put them to good use, where we can meet with our Father and tell Him all that’s on our hearts and find He meets us there to strengthen and advise us.
Maybe you’re only half way up your mountain and you haven’t reached the summit yet when you’re going to shout for joy. Well, God encourages us to give thanks and rejoice wherever we’re at, whether we’re at rock bottom, half way up, or right on top of the mountain because our praise has the supernatural ability to turn the tide of our battles. Praise defeats the enemy, because he sees we’re declaring the victory, the goodness of our God, despite how we feel or what is happening.
Be encouraged as you go into this week, God is with you wherever you are in life, whatever you’re facing, and He has promised to provide your strength, your wisdom, your finances, your courage, your healing, whatever you need, because He loves you and you’re in Christ Jesus. 😊
Philippians 4:19 NLT And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
Lord even though we can’t see how You will do it, we choose to trust You and praise You for the victory, for the healing, for the provision, even before we see it or feel it. In Jesus name. Amen.
