Romans 5:17 For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
We’ve had our cooker for years and I only just discovered that the shelves have a resting point when you pull them out where they won’t tip forward to spill everything on the floor. How could I have not known that!🫢 Maybe you’ve had light bulb moments and thought “Why didn’t I know that before!?”
In our Christian lives it can be a bit like that too. God has given us His grace and righteousness so that we can reign in life through Jesus and He wants us to know about it. He wants us to have ongoing light bulb moments!😊
Paul’s prayers in Ephesians 1:16-23 and Ephesians 3:16-21 ask that God would give us spiritual wisdom and insight so we can grow in the knowledge of God, that we would have the eyes of our understanding opened to learn how much God loves us and how exceedingly great the power is that He has put in us, that we would have our hearts flooded with light so we can understand the hope He gives us.
I know of one man who prayed those prayers daily over himself and his unsaved brother for 6 months and it transformed his understanding and his brother was saved.
God says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.(Hosea 4:6) In other words He has made provision for us in every area of our lives to be overcomers, to be victors and not victims, but unless we know what He has given us He says we will be easy targets. And we really don’t want that!
If someone told us we had won an amazing prize which would change our whole lives for the better, I think we would immediately find out what we’d won, and then jump up and down about it! Wouldn’t it be good if we all had that same desire to know what God has said we’ve been given through believing in Jesus.😊
Next time you want to know more about what God has given you, why not pray those two prayers in Ephesians over yourself, and put in the names of your loved ones daily, and see what God will do.😊 Amen.
