OPEN OUR EYES LORD

 Isaiah 11:2
And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on him-
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.

As we read those familiar words they’re describing the Lord Jesus who Isaiah was prophesying about and how He would be filled with the Holy Spirit when He set foot on the earth. Then I remembered that we are now joint heirs with the Risen Lord Jesus, (Romans 8:16-17) that we are one Spirit with Him (1 Cor. 6:17) and that His Holy Spirit has been given to us who believe in Jesus. His Spirit has been infused into us!

So when you read those verses again can they not also refer to us because, as Jesus is, so are we in this world.(1 John 4:17 NKJV) What an inspiring thought!

We have the same Holy Spirit of wisdom and understanding in us! We don’t have a different Holy Spirit, we have the same Spirit of counsel and might, the same Spirt of knowledge and fear of the Lord. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in us! (Romans 8:11)

In Ephesians 1:16 Paul prays that God would open our eyes, that He would give us insight into what we have already been given. He prays in verse 19 that we will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him, and we can be praying those same prayers.😊

God wants us to know what we have and He wants us to believe it and walk in it. He tells us so clearly in His word, now we can do our part and let it sink into our thinking so we know who we really are in Him and what we have.

And if you have a few minutes have a read of Revelation 1:4-8 to remind you who you are one Spirit with.😊

Let’s spend some time with the Lord today and let Him open up our spiritual eyes and ears and soften our hearts as we worship Him to expand our understanding, that the Holy Spirit is not only on us but He is actually in us, and all His wisdom, counsel, might and understanding are available to us too. Thank You Lord. In Jesus name. Amen.
