It can be hard to see things change when we want to hold on to what’s familiar, and feel safe within its confines, but some change is positive. I heard of a council that wanted to pull down slum housing in order for people to have better homes. Most people were delighted but there were still those who didn’t want the change! They preferred to stick with the way things were because it was all they’d known.
Sometimes God ‘stirs our nest’ where He allows things to become uncomfortable in different parts of our lives in order for us to be stretched and moved forward, especially when we’re stuck in a rut. We can either dig our heels in and resist His plan or we can embrace the changes that He wants and move with Him.😊
If God is doing that in our lives, He doesn’t want us to be anxious, but to know His plans are to give us a future and a hope. Maybe we struggle to see the positive side of change but with God’s help, if we’ll trust Him, He will always work things out for our good and given time, will be better than we can ever imagine.
Even if change seems daunting we can remember that God is giving us His grace for each and every day, He is right there beside us every moment of the process and He has promised to help us and hold us. At no point will He leave us alone, or abandon us. As scripture says He will be holding our hand so we won’t stumble and fall.
So no matter what changes are coming, we can put our hand in the hand of the One who upholds all things, and continue taking those steps of faith, knowing He will get us to where He wants us to be.😊
Lord, we ask You to help us have the right attitude to change and not be anxious or afraid, but to even be excited about it. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Isaiah 41:13 For I hold you by your right hand - I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, “Don’t be afraid, for I am here to help you.
