But as for me! Do you ever stop and say, ‘But as for me…….’. The words that follow that statement tell us where we are at, on any given subject.π The Psalmist David wanted it known where he stood, regardless of how much he was being persecuted or threatened. He was determined to praise His God.
There may be all sorts of things in your life which are threatening your peace of mind, or your health or your relationships or finances. When that happens it’s good to declare ‘But as for me, I’m still going to praise the Lord, and still sing about His unfailing love. I will still trust my God and I will still obey Him.
He took his eyes off his distress and reminded himself that God would be his strength, and his refuge in all the storms of life. What a wise man and he can teach us such a lot as he was called the man after God’s own heart. What a lovely thing to have said about you.πLet’s be people after God’s own heart today and let our praises rise up to the One who loves us unfailingly, who is our refuge and our place of safety in all the ups and downs of life. Let’s praise our God today. Amen.
Psalm 62:6 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.
