Psalm 31:20 You hide them in the shelter of your presence, safe from those who conspire against them. You shelter them in your presence, far from accusing tongues.
Corrie Ten Boom recounts the story of when God made her invisible to the guards during the time she had to go the Nazi concentration camp in Ravensbruck, in her book 'A Prisoner and Yet'. (well worth a read). She wanted to smuggle her bible into the camp but knew if the guards saw it bulging under her dress they would forcibly take it from her. She prayed for angels to make her invisible and twice the women queued up for searches and twice the guards never even saw her as she walked past them! God's angels had hidden her as she asked. All the other women had everything taken away but Corrie was untouched.
That story gives me goose bumps and is so practical in the way she had such confidence and simple trust in her God to protect her in very difficult and frightening circumstances.
Now we may or may not experience danger on that scale, but every day we do need God's wonderful protection from any number of things, not least virus infections. Who knows how many times the Lord has already protected us during our lives from possible tragedies, accidents on the roads or other dangers we were never even aware of at the time.
God is so merciful to us and it just makes you so thankful, doesn't it, that He hides us in the shelter of His presence (literally 'In Christ' as we looked at last week) and He's given us His angels to protect us wherever we go. (Psalm 91:11 For He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go.)
So as you go about your days in this coming week, rest in the certain knowledge that God has ordered His angels to protect you too, so you don't need to fear anything wherever you go, or whatever you're called to do.
Declare God's protection by faith afresh this morning. Remember faith speaks, so we declare it. This is His fresh manna today.
Psalm 32:7 You are my hiding place; You protect me from trouble; You surround me with songs of victory. (God and His angels are singing songs of deliverance over us. What a thought!)
Have you declared it out loud yet?😊 Thank You Lord. Glory to Your Name.
(See also Psalm 31:19 Nlt) Have a blessed, protected week.
