Proverbs 4: 20 My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don't lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.
It's good to hear some things over and over again. We never grow tired of hearing someone say they love us whether it's family or friends. The more we hear something the more we believe it and God designed it that way.
He says in Romans 10:17 So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. It means continuously hearing over and over again in the present tense in that verse. It works with everything we hear, faith to believe God's word but also faith to believe negative reports.
When we hear a thing often enough we begin to believe it which is why God said to keep His word in front of our eyes, in our ears and in our mouths rather than the negative reports of the world😊
It's just possible God has something new to show us if we'll keep our hearts and minds open to His Spirit. How often have we read a verse loads of times, then one day we suddenly 'see' some new truth in it we've never seen before? We've had a light bulb moment!
It's a bit like God is saying "if you didn't get it the first time, I'll say it as many ways as it takes till you get it." We all need light bulb moments so we find out what God is trying to get through to us. The trouble is, we sometimes hear something put in a different way and religious tradition jumps in and says "that's not the teaching I grew up with so it can't be right!" Maybe we need to examine it again and keep our minds open, to keep 'hearing and hearing' what God is saying. I had to do that when I first heard about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit because it was new to me at the time. I'm so thankful the Lord kept teaching me till I got the revelation of it!
The Holy Spirit wants us to be open and teachable to let the Lord speak fresh revelation from His word, maybe in a different way, that will open up new paths of understanding. If we think we know it all already then we're being prideful and hard of heart. I know we don’t want to limit God in any way, so let's ask for more light bulb revelation moments.😊
