Over the years we've held lots of firework parties in our back garden which were great fun. The kids would love choosing the next firework to light and all would be well till one of them seemed to fizzle out! No one enjoys a fizzled out firework!
I was reminded this week that God didn't bring us this far for us just to fizzle out, or to stay stuck at the same level we've been at for the last 20 years. He wants us to grow and mature in our faith.
The day we were saved God began a good work in us and Philippians 1:6 says He'll complete it. We may have been discouraged, distracted or knocked off course but if that happens God lovingly wraps His arms round us and brings us back on the path He wants for us.
As we know fireworks will suddenly explode with colour and stars to light up our night sky. I believe God has explosive blessings still to come for all of us too; things that will take our breath away, things He's been planning and preparing since before the world was made for those that love Him, things we've never even seen, heard or imagined. (1 Corinthians 2:9)
I hope we're grabbing hold of that because God's plans are bigger and better than we ever thought possible. They're part of the exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think which can be ours because of the power at work in us.
God has doors He's getting ready to open, but He's waiting to see if we're believing Him to do the 'above and beyond'.
So as another month unfolds let's make a decision to believe God for the impossible, for Him to do things for us we can't do for ourselves. Let's believe for our path to get brighter and brighter and start expecting things to happen - reaching out in faith, because all things are possible with God.😊
We're not going to fizzle out, but as we believe we're going to sizzle with explosive blessings!😊 Thank You Lord.
