Zechariah 4:6-7 ..."This is the word of the Lord to Zerabbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit.', says the Lord of hosts. 'Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"
The past couple of days the Lord has had us looking into His grace. So, I asked myself, why don't we use it when it's for us all?
It's a bit like being given a new car to drive then walking all the way! Or like never cashing in a money cheque that would make all the difference. Our family gave me a cheque to buy a laptop but until I paid it into our bank account I couldn't use it.
God has put all the grace we'll ever need, our entire lives, in our heavenly bank account for us to draw out, but we have to receive it and use it.😊
There is no sickness or disease, no problem that Grace isn't more powerful than and it's available to the undeserving. That's part of what grace is - the undeserved favour of God.😊 We can't earn it and if we think we deserve it we don't actually qualify - it's for the undeserving, you and me.😊
God says come to receive His gift of grace all the time, any time. Instead of only bringing the need, wandering off and wondering if He's heard us, He wants us to receive the grace before we leave the throne room!
God reminds us in our verse that when we have mountainous problems in front of us, to bring the capstone of grace to them. A capstone is a crowning achievement. Jesus, Who is Grace, is God's crowning achievement so we can shout 'Grace, grace to it!' and know those mountains will become a plain. In other words they have to bow to Jesus and His Grace! He says to shout it not whisper it, think it or mutter it under our breath!😊
So today let's continue to not just rest in His grace, not just soak it up, but let's use it and even if we're not a 'shouty' person by nature, continually shout Grace, Grace to our problems till those mountains come down in Jesus' Name. Amen.
