SEARCH FOR THE GOOD

Proverbs 11:27 If you search for good, you will find favor; but if you search for evil, it will find you!

This is an interesting little verse with a warning which shows we can choose to search for the good in life or we can look for the bad things to complain about and be an old Eeyore! There's usually two ways to look at something and depending on how we look at life will tell us quite a lot about ourselves.

For instance two prisoners look out of prison bars, one sees mud the other sees stars. If you have a garden don't look at the fallen leaves, look at the flowers. It's the old glass half full or half empty thing. Do we always look for the worst, or do we look for the good in people or situations?

My washing line snapped yesterday morning just as I was finishing pegging the last item up and the line was full! As it all fell to the ground I didn't throw a wobbly, you'll be pleased to know, but was very resigned and just unpegged it all and put it on the other line. When my husband came outside he looked on the bright side and said how good it was I was there at the moment it broke so it wasn't left on the ground for hours getting all dirty again! I realised he was absolutely right and in the end was grateful it happened when it did.😊

That's just a silly example, but life tends to have quite a few of those little moments and we can help ourselves an awful lot by choosing to find something good or positive in them if we can. We can be grumpy or we can choose to look on the bright side. We can complain and remain, or praise and be raised!

So whenever we can, let's look for the good and find favour and refuse to look for the bad which scripture says draws bad to us. In fact, let's go on a treasure hunt for good today and see what we find. ðŸ˜ŠðŸ˜Š
