Luke 1:37 “For nothing will be impossible with God.”
We can imagine the disciples being so defeated on what we now know as Easter Saturday. They’d seen the horror of their Lord brutally killed the day before and had no idea there was a mind boggling miracle about to happen the next morning! It looked like their world had collapsed, all hope was gone, and they weren't sure what to do next.
Had they forgotten Jesus had said He’d rise again? Maybe they couldn’t get their heads round it anyway or how it could possibly be true. Ever felt like that? You’ve heard a promise of God but can't seem to believe it, or see how it could come about? The wonderful thing is it didn’t matter what they thought or believed at that point because God’s plan to resurrect Jesus from the dead didn’t depend on them, it was going through the process of coming to completion anyway and absolutely nothing could stop it!
We don’t want to be like the disciples who presumed nothing was happening, just because they couldn’t see it happening. The truth is some of God’s promises are unconditional and will come to pass whether we believe them or not. The promise that Jesus is coming back is one of those promises.😊
So the good news is God has restored hope to mankind and we can focus on the fact that He always keeps His promises. We can have a great sense of expectation of good because we know tomorrow we’re going to be celebrating the impossible.
Nothing is impossible anymore, because the impossibility of Jesus' resurrection has already happened! Hallelujah! Our God is awesome and He loves us.
Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”
