Isaiah told them God was going to be doing something unimaginable, something totally ‘out there’ that had never been done before. A virgin having a baby, supernaturally conceived by God Himself! God was coming to earth in human form, coming into our world, our experience, our ups and downs. How amazing are God’s thoughts, God’s ways, God’s plans!
With that revelation of God being able to do the inconceivable, whatever it is you’ve been asking God for, is not impossible anymore is it?😊
But I wonder what Advent means to all of us? Is it just something to tick off the days till the Big Day? Or is it a time when we can prepare our hearts to receive more of Jesus Himself into our everyday lives? Jesus came to give us Hope for today but also Hope to know this life is not all there is.
Hebrews 10:5 says God prepared Jesus a body to live in which He would later sacrifice on the Cross for our sakes, so we all have the certain hope of an eternity with Him in heaven, if we put our trust in Him.
So let’s not lose sight in all the build up, the fun, or the hard work of preparing for Christmas, that Jesus came and gave up Heaven and all His privileges, just so He could come and be Immanuel - God with us, not just at Christmas, but every day of our lives.😊
Thank You Father for including us in Your amazing plans, for showing us You can do the impossible in our lives, for sending us Your dearly loved Son the Lord Jesus, to be Immanuel - God with us. We give You all our praise and thanks in Jesus’ name. Amen.
