It’s a passage of hope, of daring to believe for better things to come, of the certain knowledge that our God has not given up on us but remains faithful to us, no matter what is happening.
It’s interesting that Jeremiah who wrote Lamentations, knows to speak to himself, to encourage himself by saying, “The Lord is my inheritance, therefore, I will hope in him!” The Message translations says, “I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over).”
He’s saying God is my source of comfort, security, and hope, especially during difficult times. Sometimes we need to do the same to encourage ourselves when no one else is there to do it, and to do it out loud! Declare God’s faithfulness to us personally because He is a personal God and we belong to Him.😊
The Lord is still our inheritance, still full of faithful love that will never end, still has fresh mercy for us every morning we wake up. He has given us a never ending hope because of Jesus and all He did for us at the Cross, so we can rejoice and be glad today and praise His name. Amen.😊
