JESUS IS THE CONSTANT IN OUR LIVES

Isaiah 54:10 For the mountains shall depart. And the hills be removed, But my kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.

I was listening to a man recounting how something very traumatic had occurred in his life, and friends came rallying round to help, offering to take over at work for him till he could get his head round it. They expected him to be wringing his hands and very distressed. But he’d told them that they really didn’t need to do that because no matter what was happening, He realised Jesus was still the same through it all, God hadn’t changed, and he was going to carry steadily on looking to the Lord to strengthen and help him through it, which He did.

This man had such an understanding of the fact that no matter what changed around him, what lies were told, who was against him, who betrayed him, or how badly it affected him,  absolutely nothing changed Jesus. He is the constant in all our lives. Nothing can make Him less effective in our lives before or after an extremely difficult situation. His power is never diminished in any way and He is still well able to deliver us and turn things around for our good. It may not be the way we think but God has a way. He’s promised to never abandon us, but to protect and provide for us and that will never change all the days of our lives. Praise God.

I just found his testimony so encouraging, to remember Jesus really is the same yesterday, today and forever and while we keep remembering that, we have a very sure foundation for all our lives. Things around us may be shaken but God will hold us steady.

Psalm 46:5 (Nkjv) God is in the midst of her, she shall not be shaken; God shall help her,...  v.7 The Lord of hosts is with us…

God is never taken by surprise and He already had the answer before we found we had the problem so whatever type of situation we’re dealing with He’s reminding us it’s only temporary and He will show us what to do and how to deal with it, as we keep our eyes on Him.
