Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:
Seasons come and seasons go and the writer of Ecclesiastes knew all about it. The important thing is to recognise when a season has closed and not to try to hang on to it when God says it’s over. Not everybody will understand, in fact some may even turn away, which hurts and makes it very hard, and it may not always make sense, but when God says to do something, we have to do it.
God has good plans and purposes for each one of us and He rarely gives us the whole picture but He asks us to trust Him even when we don’t have the next step or know all the answers. Our Christian life is a life of faith, where God asks us to follow where He leads.
At some point we all have to decide whether to be comfortable and carry on as we are, or whether to step out of the boat and be out of our comfort zone, where we want God’s approval rather than man’s approval.
Scripture reminds us in Isaiah 1:19, that if we are willing and obedient we will eat the good of the land. Sometimes we are obedient, but we do it begrudgingly, and there’s no blessing in that. God is looking for willing hearts that will trust Him and trust His plan. Is it easy? Not always, but our God knows the big picture, He knows what’s round the corner and He’s either trying to protect us or bring us into a blessing for ourselves or for others.
God wants us to enjoy the season we’re in, but be willing to let it close when it’s over and look forward to whatever the next season brings. So be encouraged today to know God has good plans and purposes for us all, and if we’ll do as He says He can bring them all to pass in His good time, for His glory. In Jesus name. ๐Amen.
