UNPLUGGED

Exodus 33:14 NLT The Lord replied, “I will personally go with you, Moses, and I will give you rest—everything will be fine for you.”

“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you."

That quote resonated with me because I’ve learned when my machines don’t work, it’s often because they need turning off and on again! We can be a bit like that- we need turning off and on again! It’s called rest.😊

We can be so busy doing things for the family, our friends, the workplace, the church, that by the time we come home at the end of a busy day’s schedule we’re spent out. But God never intended us to go from one day to the next, or one week to the next without a rest, without a bit of recharging time for ourselves, and we shouldn’t feel guilty when we do. God rested on the seventh day for a reason!

He wants us to unplug for a while from those things that press in on us, so we can plug into Him for a download of His love and care. It’s called fellowship.😊 He wants to give us His fresh insights, fresh vision, fresh energy and strength, fresh perspective, fresh attitude. I wonder which one you need, or maybe you need all of them?😊

So this is a gentle nudge to take a few minutes here and there and take some time off for yourself, not to do the chores, but to enter His rest. God promises to restore our souls, to lead us beside still waters but we have to turn off the phones and screens and follow His lead and not go off on another busy track, no matter how much it distracts or calls to us!

If things are not working too well for you at the minute, or you’re struggling, maybe it’s time to unplug from some things and plug into God. Allow Him to give you His perspective, His peace, His rest, even if it’s only for a short while. He says He will reward you if you do.😊 Amen.

  1. Thank you Jackie, what a good thing to do. As you say, it's when we get caught up in the doing and not listening to his word for guidance we can end up exhausted.
Im very thankful for each and every day.
God Bless you and yours in Jesus name Amen!🙏🙌
