LET JESUS BRING RESURRECTION INTO YOUR LIFE

Jesus told her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?

Lazarus had died and his sisters Martha and Mary were heart broken especially as Jesus hadn't turned up when they expected Him to. Jesus finally does turn up, four days too late, they think, and Martha goes to remonstrate with Him for not being there when they needed him. Meanwhile, scripture says "Mary stayed in the house". There's something significant in that statement.

Martha knew Jesus could do something to change what had happened so she had gone to talk to Him even if she had a bit of a dig at Him first! But Mary, she stayed at home crying, unable to see past her loss, and couldn't seem to do anything and we've probably all felt like that sometimes.

So Jesus told Martha to go and tell Mary that He was there and wanted to see her. I think that's a key phrase in this passage too. Jesus wants us to know, no matter what we've lost, what sorrow we're going through, that He is in our now and He is right here and He wants to see us, He wants to talk to us because He has hope to give us, His resurrection life to impart to us.

As soon as Mary arrived Jesus started to put His resurrection plan into operation that changed their lives. Could it be that Jesus is waiting for you and me to go and spend time with Him so He can tell us what He wants to do to change our circumstances, to bring us back to that place of hope?

Jesus knows we all experience loss of some kind and He's just waiting for us to believe Him when He says to us I am the resurrection and the life for you today in your circumstances. Let's go and see Him and let Him talk to us too and believe what He tells us so that He can bring resurrection to our lives here and now.
