GOD WILL DO IT AGAIN!

Joshua 4:23 (NLT) For the Lord your God dried up the river right before your eyes, and he kept it dry until you were all across, just as he did at the Red Sea when he dried it up until we had all crossed over.

God did it again! He took them across the Red Sea and now He’d just taken them across a flooding River Jordan, and on dry ground too, not up to their ankles or knees with waves splashing them. No! God always does things thoroughly, not half a job!

Maybe God has done something wonderful for you in the past where He rescued or delivered you out of an impossible situation, and now something else has cropped up? You’re under attack again in some area and the enemy is saying “God won’t help you this time!”

Well, I’m here to remind you the enemy is a liar. God is the one who never changes, that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and what He has done before He will do it again! That’s a word for someone today.

He will rescue and deliver you just as He did before. Even if you can’t see how it can happen, it’s just like when Pharaoh’s army was behind the children of Israel, thundering after them in state of the art chariots, and in front of them was an ocean. Does it feel like that with you?

Well I have good news. What God did for the Israelites He’s about to do for you. He is taking you across on dry land and if He has to move an ocean of disease or whatever is blocking you, He will. He has your back and whatever the enemy is thundering in your ears, you will see him silenced and wiped out by the power of God.

Rise up in faith, He has you safe in the palm of His hand. He is your Deliverer, your Saviour and He loves you to the Cross and back. It’s been written in Jesus’ blood - He is the God who loves you, saves you, delivers you and heals you.

Thank You Lord, our eyes are on You and we trust You. You’ve rescued us before and You will do it again. We know You are with us and no weapon formed against us will succeed. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

OUR ‘BOTHERED’ BUTTON

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I sometimes get upset by things which, in the big picture, are really not that important, but at the moment they’re happening they bother me! We had the family round for dinner and I had all the seating arranged just the way I wanted it, but grandchildren sometimes have other ideas! Instead of just going with the flow it really bothered me, and my daughter had to gently remind me that it really didn’t matter where they sat! She was absolutely right!😊

For you it will be something very different that presses your ‘bothered’ button, that winds you up, but I suspect we all have buttons that the enemy loves to push from time to time, and do you then find yourself saying ‘Lord please help me change!?’ I know I do!

I read this the other day ‘If it's not going to matter in five years, don't spend more than five minutes being upset by it!’ That sounds like a good bench mark for testing to see if something is worth fussing over or being bothered about! Lord help us remember it next time one of our buttons is pressed!😊

The enemy loves to condemn us and tries to make us hard on ourselves when we’ve allowed him to rattle us, and yes we do need to go to the Lord about it, but God isn’t condemning us. In fact, He knew what He was getting when He took us on and He knows our frailties very well, but He reminds us that His Holy Spirit is in us to help us overcome them. All we need is a willing and obedient heart when we hear the prompting of His Spirit nudging us to be quiet, or just to let it go!

Philippians 1:6 He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

So if you’ve been feeling like you could have done better for some reason, can I encourage you to know God still loves you, mistakes and all, and we can go to Him day or night to receive His forgiveness and ask for His help to do better next time. Remember we’re all a good work in progress and whatever level of glory we’re on right now, we can know God is sorting us out, changing us from the inside so we can go to the next glory when He knows we’re ready.😊 Amen.
