GOD’S WAY IS PERFECT

2 Samuel 22: 31-33 NLT 

God’s way is perfect. 

 All the Lord’s promises prove true.

He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.

32 For who is God except the Lord?

Who but our God is a solid rock?

33 God is my strong fortress,

and he makes my way perfect.

So often our flesh wants to go its own way, like the song. “I Did It My Way!”, and when we do that we discover it’s not the best way!😊

Here we read there is only one way that is perfect and that is God’s way.  Perfect here means to be whole and complete, without blemish. I think we’d all like our future path, our ‘way forward’ to be like that. Without blemish means to be perfectly flawless and free from any spot, stain, imperfection or defect.

David wrote these verses and he was saying that’s what it’s like if we’ll follow God’s way and it took him a lifetime to learn it! David knew he had made big mistakes but he’d learned to always come back to God’s way and he would be put right😊. 

He reminds us that God is the One who shields us from our enemy, that God is the only rock on which we can stand and be totally secure. We have to know we only have one safe place and that is in God Himself, not our bank balance, not those in authority, not even our loved ones.

How wonderfully blessed we are to know that, and when we do we’ll turn to Him for every decision, for every provision, for our forgiveness when we get it wrong, for our righteousness to withstand the accusations of the enemy.

When we know God is our rock, that His way is perfect, that He is shielding us and all His promises are true and trustworthy, then we will find His way for our lives is perfect if we’ll follow it.😊

2 Samuel 22:47 NLT The Lord lives! Praise to my Rock! May God, the Rock of my salvation, be exalted!

Everyday we make choices, so let’s choose God’s way and let Him make our way perfect and give Him all our praise today. In Jesus name. Amen.
