GREAT EXPECTATIONS - GREAT EXCITEMENT

Ephesians 3:20 NKJV Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

When Christmas is on the doorstep children get so excited they can hardly contain themselves, but as grown ups we tend to lose our excitement over things generally. That excitement comes from having expectation of good things and that’s how God wants us to be every time we wake up! But how many of us feel like that? Probably not many!

So I’m just here today to turn our eyes back on Jesus and His promises, to have a sense of great expectation of what He wants to do in our lives, no matter how mundane they seem to be at the moment, or what has happened in the past. God can change things in a moment of time because, don’t forget, He can change water into wine in seconds, not years.😊

If your everyday feels a bit watery, a bit boring, let’s go to God, the one who created the beauty of the stars, and ask Him to do something in our lives, to wake up our excitement, to give us a sense of great expectation again. If we don’t ask, scripture says we don’t get, so let’s ask and see what God will do.😊

God has gifts and surprises under His Christmas tree with your name on, and mine!😊 We don’t want to get to Heaven and have God say, “You never asked! I had a whole treasure house waiting for you to explore and experience, but you settled for mediocrity!”

I have no idea what it will look like, but God does, so if we’ve lost our sense of expectation, let’s be like Jabez and ask. 1 Chronicles 4:10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

That’s my prayer for us all today: God’s favour, God’s blessing, God’s presence, God’s protection. Father, we ask for it all and we thank and praise You in advance with great expectation. In Jesus name. Amen.😊
