Romans 8:35 NLT Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?
The NKJV says Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? He’s talking extreme difficulties and yet he reminds us that no matter what the trauma or ‘struggle’, it can’t separate us from Christ’s love and in verse 18 he says ‘what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory God will reveal to us later.’ It’s good to remember!🙂
Those times when we’re so disturbed or distressed he reminds us that the Holy Spirit Himself is interceding on our behalf (vs.26-27). He prays for us with groans that can’t be uttered. You see God knows what we’re dealing with. There’s never a moment when He’s not thinking about us and listening to the Holy Spirit and Jesus, who also intercedes before the throne of God for us (v.34). Jesus is praying our faith will not fail just like He did for Peter. He’s holding us steady.
God is always listening to our call, always answering, always working in the background and working His purposes out for His glory and our good.
So take heart today, and don’t forget His wonderful reassurance we have in Romans 8:37 NKJV Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Not just some things - all things!😊 NLT: No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. I love that promise - it’s not a halfhearted, puny victory, it’s an overwhelming victory, in Jesus.
Thank You Lord, You really do take us from trial to triumph as we keep our eyes fixed on You and we give You glory for it. In Jesus name. Amen.
