DARE2BE

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

It never fails to amaze me what we find on our walks and the other day was no exception, as half buried in the long grass at the side of the path was a woolly hat! It looked very bedraggled as it had been there for days in the rain but it had a lovely furry Pom Pom on top, so I brought it home and washed it. I am now the proud owner of a lovely woolly hat with the Dare2Be logo on it!😊

It made me stop and think of all the things I’d love to ‘dare to be’ if I had the courage but if you’re like me, you may not be very courageous by nature. Scripture reminds us in Joshua 1:9 This is my command - be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Sometimes God asks us to do things out of our comfort zone and we have to decide to ‘dare2be’ the person He says we can be, or chicken out and refuse to do it. I have found that when I’ve done what He says, He does give me the courage and ability to do it, even if I do it with my knees knocking!😊

Our verse says God is not just asking, He is commanding each one of us to be courageous, to be a Dare2Be person. He wants us to take the limits off and allow Him to do more than we could ever ask or imagine, if we’ll just work with Him. Maybe He’s nudging you to go and speak to someone about Jesus, or to volunteer for something you’ve never done before, or to go for that interview? If so, can I encourage you to reach out in faith and take the first step, knowing He is going ahead of you and He will help you to succeed?

We never know what we can do till we try and He’s not asking us to go and kill a giant - well, not yet anyway - that might come later!🤣 

Seriously though, whatever He’s been speaking to you about, dare to be who He says you can be, dare to have what He says you can have, and dare to do what He says you can do. You’ll be amazed at what you can do with the Holy Spirit’s help, and as we go through one door of opportunity, so another one will open. Thank You Lord. Amen.

I think I better go and put my ‘Dare2Be’ hat on now! How about you?

WONDERFUL RESULTS

James 5:17 NLT ….The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

As I looked at all the people in my Contacts list the other day, I realised how God has brought all these people into my life and how blessed I am to know them. In a similar way God has placed all manner of people in your lives for a reason as well. Just have a little look at who God has brought into your life in your contact list, or in your address book.😊

Some of them may not know Jesus yet as their Saviour but we can pray they come to know Him. Others are part of the family of God, and some will be immediate family, but I realised how we could be praying for one another so we're encouraged and built up from day to day, praying we come to grow deeper into God, praying for His wisdom and understanding of His great love for us.

Everyone feels discouraged now and then, but it’s so good to know somebody is lifting us up before the throne of grace at those times especially. God reminded us yesterday of our righteous standing with Him and our verse says a righteous person’s prayers will produce wonderful results, so that means our fervent prayers will do the same, no matter how old or young we might be!

We are all able to be part of God’s plans to bless and uphold people wherever, and whoever they are. God loves and cares about each and every one of them and how wonderfully reassuring that is. Every prayer we pray is a seed sown for the Lord to fulfil His purpose in that person’s life. Our prayers will affect eternity!

Isaiah 65:24 I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!

That’s the God who goes ahead of us, so be encouraged and don’t think God won’t answer your prayers, because this verse says He will, and He’ll even do it while you’re still talking about it! Our God is a prayer answering God! 

So let’s keep praying and believing for wonderful results. Nothing is too hard, or too difficult, or too far gone for our God to turn around.  Thank You Lord. Amen.
