HOPE IS OUR ANCHOR

Hebrews 6:18-19 CEV God cannot tell lies! And so his promises and vows are two things that can never be changed. We have run to God for safety. Now his promises should greatly encourage us to take hold of the hope that is right in front of us. This hope is like a firm and steady anchor for our souls. In fact, hope reaches behind the curtain and into the most holy place.

When ships sail into a safe harbour they put their anchors down so they remain steady. I wonder, is your anchor down or has it been pulled up because of circumstances and now you feel like you’re floating around, tossed by the waves? When that happens we can feel very vulnerable but God doesn’t want us to feel like that, in fact He has done something so we won’t need to.

He has told us we can run to Him for safety and His promises are there for us to grab a hold of to give us such hope that no storm can shake it. When we have our anchor hooked into His promises He will hold us steady and we won’t drift off.

Sometimes we need to be reminded we are a people who have hope, we have a loving, caring Heavenly Father who has made provision for everything in life we shall ever need through giving us His Son. 2 Peter 1:3-4  tells us that it comes through knowing Him and His precious promises and all He asks us to do is believe them.😊

Jesus told us to come as a little child with simple trust and not try to work everything out ourselves beforehand, which for some of us is not easy! But God already has it all worked out so we don’t need to, which is why He tells us to give Him our worries instead of carrying them ourselves because they can wear down our faith. 

We may even think we don’t have enough faith but there’s nothing wrong with our faith, because God gave us the measure of faith. (Romans 12:3 KJV) It’s not a baby faith but the same faith the apostles had. It’s a fruit of the Spirit which He produces in us. It’s just our unbelief that gets in the way!😊

So let’s ask the Lord for His help, to hold us steady, to simply trust His vow to bless and multiply us, to trust His promises to provide, restore and heal us, and allow Him to be the great I AM in our lives today and every day as we keep our eyes fixed on Him. In Jesus name. Amen.
